II. LESSON PLAN AS A SUCCESSFUL TOOL FOR TEACHERS

a.     How useful is lesson planning for teachers?

Lesson planning is an important tool because it focuses on both the instructor and the learner, also it is useful because it helps teachers to list the activities that she or he is going to develop every single class, besides it helps the teachers to think about the objectives that she or he wants to achieve from her or his students.

 Listing the supplies needed is helpful for teacher preparation for the class, as sometimes the supplies may be beyond what the teacher has on hand, nowadays teachers use innovative lesson plans using tablet computers, cameras and other devices that the teacher needs to arrange ahead of time.

Finally, lesson planning is a vital component of the teaching-learning process because it will make easier to have an organized class, the better prepared the teacher is, the more likely she/he will be able to handle whatever unexpectedly happens in the lesson.

b. What are the most useful parts in the lesson plan when teaching VYL?

Children love to play, so a lesson plan for VYL must have warm up activities such as learning games to allow the students to have fun while understanding the material, the teacher can use songs or flash cards related with the topic that he or she is teaching, besides It is also very important that the students complete some kind of worksheet during or at the end of the lesson.  It means that in the step of evaluation of your lesson plan, you must have some worksheets to help your students to be actively participating in the learning process. Through the worksheets, the teacher can also evaluate how well the students comprehended the material.

c. What was your own experience with lesson planning?

Creating lesson plans was kind of difficult because we have never done that before, and we don’t have any idea about what things we could include on them. But then we were getting experience creating lesson plans because we did 16, so at the end of the teaching practices we had more abilities to create them.

The most important reason of creating lesson plans was that they helped us to avoid improvisation because when we forgot a step of our class we just read it on our lesson plans and we continued developing the class. Also it helped us to organize the time in which we developed our classes.
